Fire Safety Program

Housing NSW carries out a Fire Safety Program to ensure its properties continue to meet fire safety standards. Smoke alarms are installed in all Housing NSW properties.

Fire safety inspections will initially be carried out on low-rise buildings with stairs and multi-unit properties to assess current fire safety features. Some properties may undergo additional maintenance work such as installing smoke seals around entry doorways, fitting of fire-rated doors and using fire-resistant paint.

Lead Paint

Housing NSW will ensure that reasonable and practical steps are taken to protect the health and safety of our clients, staff and contractors by minimising their exposure to lead paint, in accordance with the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) guidelines and relevant Australian Standards.
