Update: The application period for the current round of funding has expired. The closing date for applications was January 31st, 2008.
Housing NSW received 46 applications that demonstrated a range of innovative and practical project ideas from organisations across NSW. The Expression of Interest process was very competitive with funds of $110,000 available to allocate to projects that best met the selection criteria. A selection committee made up of three Housing NSW representatives and a member from the Department of Environment and Climate Change assessed all of the applications. A total of 16 projects were successful in this funding round.

Housing NSW invited applications for a new pilot program, the 2007/08 Eco-Wise Community Grants funding round.
The aim of the Eco-Wise Community Grants is to encourage and support social housing communities in protecting, restoring and enhancing the environment to ultimately reduce our individual carbon footprint. The pilot is part of a wider Environmental Sustainability Strategy that Housing NSW is currently developing.
Grants of up to $20,000 were available from Housing NSW to eligible organisations for one-off projects that promote community awareness and skills development and can demonstrate through practical examples innovative ways to increase environmental sustainability within social housing communities.
