The Community Greening Program is a partnership between the Botanic Gardens Trust and Housing NSW. Its goal is to turn unused and neglected vacant land (mostly Housing NSW and Council land) into community gardens by involving and training social housing tenants across NSW.
The Community Greening program has assisted in excess of 100 community groups comprising several thousand social housing tenants since it began in August 2000.
