In February 2006, the Department engaged Creative Learning Edge as consultants to conduct an independent review of the Public Housing Customer Council (PHCC).
Members of the PHCC, Departmental tenants, staff and managers were consulted.
An independent review of the PHCC was previously undertaken in 2004. The former review’s recommendations, implementation plan and impact were all considered as part of the current review.
The latest review identified a broad consensus that a statewide tenant consultative body was important to both tenants and the Department. One of the key recommendations of the review was that a new, improved tenant consultative structure consisting of a smaller membership be established to replace the PHCC.
