Applicants must first contact the nearest Housing NSW office to arrange an appointment to discuss their eligibility and housing needs.
If you want to apply for Public Housing, you will need to complete a Public Housing application form. You can ask someone else to pick up the form for you, or help you fill it in if needed.
You will also have to provide Housing NSW with documents that confirm your eligibility for Public Housing. Examples of documents you may have to show Housing NSW include:
- passport, birth certificate, driver's licence
- Centrelink statements, income details received electronically through the Income Confirmation Scheme (ICS), pay slips
- bank books or statements
- completed medical assessment form
- letters or reports from health professionals, other agencies or support providers
Housing NSW will assess your need for Public Housing based on the information in your application and any other supporting documents you provide.
