Clients need to contact the person who gave them the offer and let them know that they will be accepting it. They will then be told what needs to happen before they can move in, and when they can expect the property to be ready.
If a client does not want to accept their first offer, they need to provide a letter and any other supporting documents to Housing NSW within 28 days. The letter should explain their reasons for rejecting the offer.
If a client rejects their first offer, they will be given a second offer of housing. However, it may be a considerable time before they are given a second offer and it may not be a different type of property or a different suburb within the zone.
If a client rejects two reasonable offers, including those made by public housing, a community housing provider, or a combination of both, their application will be removed from the Housing or Transfer Register, depending on which register they are on.
If an offer is not suitable because of changes in the client’s circumstances Housing NSW will cancel the offer, discuss the situation with the client, and offer more suitable accommodation later.
