Housing NSW's Community Housing Division is responsible for the state wide and regional administration of the community housing sector.
Community Housing properties are managed by non-government and not-for-profit organisations, with funding assistance provided by Housing NSW. The community housing sector in NSW provides tenancy and property management for more than 13,000 properties.
Community Housing is available for short and medium term transitional housing for people who are homeless and in crisis; housing for residents with support needs; and long-term housing.
Applicants may register interest for Community Housing by directly contacting a community housing provider, or, when applying for Public Housing, by ticking 'Yes' on the Housing Register Form (PDF file) when it asks 'Do you wish to be considered for housing with a community housing provider?'
