Financial Assistance
Housing NSW provides financial assistance through Rentstart to eligible clients.
Help to overcome barriers to private rental
Some people face specific barriers to renting in the private market because:
- they don’t have a rental history
- they have had problems with renting in the past
- agents are unwilling to rent to them for other reasons.
A Tenancy Guarantee can help to overcome these barriers and encourage agents to offer them a property.
Help for people with complex needs
Some people need additional help to find and maintain a tenancy in the private rental market. The Private Rental Brokerage Service, available in selected locations, helps eligible clients to access private rental accommodation.
