Tenancy Guarantees Manual

Tenancy Guarantees is a project to assist people who are able to manage and sustain a private rental market tenancy but who are experiencing difficulties securing approval to rent. The applicant may not be able to rent because of discrimination based on social or personal characteristics, no tenancy history, or a problem with their rental history.

A Tenancy Guarantee is an offer to pay for arrears or damages to a maximum value of $1,000 (incl. GST) over the full amount of the bond, which the tenant pays in the normal way.

The Guarantees are being delivered through six Community Housing organisations in locations across NSW, two within metropolitan Sydney and four in regional locations.

The pilot project is fully funded by the Rental Bond Board administered by the Office of Fair Trading.

Call a local Community Housing Office for any enquiries about Tenancy Guarantees.
