Dubbo Transformation Strategy

The West Dubbo public housing area, known as Gordon Estate, originally contained over 300 properties and housed 1,300 people. Because of the high-levels of crime, antisocial behaviour and social disadvantage, a plan was announced to transform the area – the Dubbo Transformation Strategy.

The strategy entailed relocating tenants and a staged sale of public housing properties. The area has become popular with young families and first home buyers, moving into the renamed Rosewood Grove.

The strategy will be completed in June 2011.
