Setting Housing Goals and Objectives

Housing is critical to meeting basic human needs for shelter, security and a sense of connection within communities. Furthermore, the availability of a suitable range of housing contributes to a community’s ability to function in efficient, equitable, prosperous and sustainable ways. Adequate and appropriate housing is thus fundamental to vital, liveable and successful communities. This section provides guidance on how to formulate housing goals and objectives suited to addressing the issues raised in the housing market analysis and the resulting problem statement. The purpose would be to ensure that each problem is addressed by a goal and a set of objectives. Each objective would then have an associated strategy for its achievement.
