Community Housing Lower North Shore manages affordable housing on behalf of Willoughby City Council. In October 2004, it managed 10 affordable housing units for the Council.
In addition, Community Housing Lower North Shore manages 103 units leased from the private rental market and 93 properties owned by the Department of Housing.
Community Housing Lower North Shore provides high quality tenancy and asset management, and has been recognised in the National Awards for Excellence in Community Housing, organised by the National Community Housing Forum.
For the properties it manages on behalf of Willoughby City Council, Community Housing Lower North Shore is responsible for:
- property management, day to day maintenance and rental risk
- council rates
- developing and maintaining a waiting list of eligible tenants for the affordable housing
- providing the affordable housing to eligible tenants
- an annual report of properties managed, and the status of occupants, so council can ensure the objectives of the affordable housing program are being met.
