Technical Advice
The Centre for Affordable Housing has specialised experience in affordable housing policy and affordable housing provision and gives strategic advice on affordable housing projects.
The Centre can therefore provide advice in the following areas:
- the ways in which planning instruments can be used to maximise affordable housing. For example, the Centre for Affordable Housing has worked with local governments to facilitate provision of a density bonus to a private developer in exchange for affordable housing.
- how to establish ongoing management arrangements. The Centre provides expert advice on the ways in which affordable housing can be managed, assisting with a variety of management requirements, including financial and reporting responsibilities. Assistance can also be given to identify housing managers.
- how to prepare financial models to determine rents and management costs to ensure ongoing viability.
