A new partnership between the Department and Wesley Mission is providing permanent supported housing to elderly people.
The Greenacre Aged-Care Supported Accommodation Program provides stable housing for elderly people who have experienced short-term homelessness or accommodation unsuitable for their needs.
During the year, the Department provided ten bed-sit units to Wesley Mission. These units are designed to help older people as their needs change with age. The exteriors of the building have been renovated by Work-for-the-Dole participants who also built a barbeque and common area.
