A $5.4 million new public housing project in North Parramatta to provide housing for people in need was officially opened today.
Twenty-four new units have been completed at 37–43 Buller Street, North Parramatta on land previously occupied by four older cottages that no longer met the needs of public housing residents or applicants.
The development features four one-bedroom, 16 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom units, four of which are adaptable for people with disabilities.
Each is self contained and features generous living and kitchen areas, serviced by two lifts and underground car parking.
The site is conveniently located near public transport, and is close to the local shops, schools, medical facilities, and recreational facilities.
The new block had been designed to reflect the heritage nature of the Parramatta area and would help meet the growing demand for affordable housing in the area for those in need.
