The Inner City Homelessness Action Plan Phase 2 was launched this month during National Homeless Persons’ Week, and will deliver more support services and places to live for homeless people in inner city Sydney.
The Action Plan focuses on early intervention and targeted support to get homeless men, women and children off the streets. Phase 2 is based on evidence that shows that homeless people need a range of support services such as health care, counselling, education and training, in addition to housing.
The plan is a collaborative approach between the government and non-government sector, which makes the chronically homeless a priority and responds to homelessness in inner city Sydney.
