The 1970s

  • The Housing Commission completed it’s 100,000th property
  • Smaller scale estates of mixed cottages and town houses were built in Macquarie Fields, Minto, Claymore and Airds
  • The townhouse used as the main housing type, on a scale not previously seen in Australia
