The 1910s
- 1912 Government set up an inquiry into public housing
- The Housing Board of NSW was set up and commenced construction of a Model Garden Suburb at Daceyville to provide workers with healthy affordable homes
- During the operation the Housing Board built 818 homes for sale on special terms, which provided cash to build a further 516
- 1919 the Sate Government amended the Local Government Act to empower councils to undertake their own housing schemes, but very few councils took advantage of the new powers
