The NSW Department of Housing Coffs Harbour office received an award from the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service Australia yesterday, in recognition the Department's past and continuous effort in assisting with workplace programs to get people with a disability or people with past health related conditions back in the workforce.
The award was presented to the Department by Luke Hardsuker, Federal MP for Cowper on behalf of CRS. Coffs Harbour Support Services also received an award.
Over the past few years the Department has had a number of participants in the program with many people gaining long term employment including some staff who are still employed by the Department today.
"The CST has provided a range of job tasks that enabled those participating to get good experience that was followed up by other business units in Coffs Harbour. It was a real team effort across the Coffs Harbour Office". said Mike Summerhill, Team Leader, Coffs Harbour.
The Coffs Harbour office also won an award at the 2004 Premier's Award.
