Rentstart by Phone Wins Premiers Award

Hurrah for the Northern Division! The Coffs Harbour based project, ‘Rentstart by Phone’, has won the Bronze Award for Services to Regional and Rural NSW in the 2005 Premier’s Public Sector Awards. So, for people living up North and needing rental assistance, all they need to do is ring Rentstart! It can all now be conveniently done on the phone.

 

Rentsmart by Phone Premier Awards   The Department’s Rentstart scheme provides financial assistance to eligible clients to move to other accommodation in the private rental market.

As a new way to assist our clients, Rentstart by Phone was initiated in 2003 and is a cost-effective, efficient and accessible service. It was implemented following the completion of a limited trial, a number of service improvements and an evaluation.

 

Client Service Strategy worked with Northern Division to develop formalised processes, guidelines and a new application form to support the entire delivery mechanism.

 

The service coverage area is now significantly larger, and covers all of the North Coast and most of the New England area. This year, the project is expected to deliver 5,500 services to clients for the entire range of Rentstart products.

 

This is the second time the Northern Division has won an award. The first was a gold award for its Private Rental Brokerage Service in 2004.
