The Department of Housing's 2003-04 Annual Report has received a bronze award, with Patricia Boow (Corporate Analysis and Reporting) on hand at the Melbourne ceremony on 2 June, to receive the honour on behalf of the organisation.
Feedback from the adjudicators highlighted that our Annual Report was well presented, readable and provided good disclosure of our activities and finances. Detailed sections on objectives were considered thoughtful and interesting.
The Australasian Reporting Awards are sponsored by a number of accounting and business associations to recognise excellence in annual reporting in the private, public and community sectors.
Congratulations to all members of the Annual Report Working Group who worked hard to pull the report together and other staff who contributed.

Annual Report of the Year went to Aurora Energy, an energy corporation owned by the Tasmanian Government. Special awards were won by BHP Billiton (for environmental reporting), Boral Ltd (for OH&S), Westpac Ltd (for corporate governance) and Camp Quality (for communications).
