The Department received a Commitment to Quality award at the recent TAFE NSW Quality Awards Showcase in Gosford.
The award recognises the Department’s partnership with the South Western Sydney Institute of TAFE, Miller Campus in constructing purpose designed homes for families caring for people living with a disability.
The partnership allows TAFE students in the pre-apprentice program to gain valuable knowledge, skills and industry experience by working on special housing projects through the Greater Western Sydney Housing Services Division.
An exhibition of the project, titled ‘Building a better life’, was displayed at the Showcase by Department staff and TAFE students involved in the project.
The TAFE NSW Quality Awards Showcase was held at the Gosford Leagues Club Convention Centre on 1 November.
