Housing NSW provides housing assistance for people living in New South Wales for those most in need.
To make sure that we allocate housing to those most in need, each applicant must meet certain criteria. To be placed on the Housing Register an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
- Confirmation of Aboriginality
- Residence in NSW
- Household income
- Asset ownership
- Ability to sustain a successful tenancy
- Repayment of former debts
- Generally, be at least 18 years of age

Information provided by each applicant is treated confidentially and is covered by Housing NSW's policy on Privacy and Personal Information.
The applicant is responsible for providing accurate information and all documents required to support their application. Proof of income is required for all members of an application aged 18 years and over.
